Acorns has been attracting a high caliber of talent since the company went remote. Engineering and management quality is going up and should only increase after the IPO. Compensation is rising to meet other public companies post IPO.
Management changes direction often, which is okay. However, it also does a poor job of communicating these changes to the rest of the company. Goals and OKRs for teams can be unclear, which slows down the velocity of the company as a whole.
