Assignment:
I was asked to build a simple web app from scratch with a mocked backend, using jQuery.
Call:
A 30-45 minute phone call with a Senior Engineer, explaining what I would be working on if hired and asking some questions about my experience.
On-site:
One full day on-site interview, 7 hours including lunch and breaks. I met different people, including the Engineering Manager, Product Manager, Senior Engineers, and a Technical Writer. They asked various questions, but there were no major implementation or algorithm challenges.
It is unfortunate that after putting in a fair amount of effort on an assignment, traveling for an on-site interview, and spending the entire day there, they did not provide a single line of feedback explaining why I wasn't hired, even though I requested it via email. This made the entire process negative for me.
How would you implement a drag-and-drop folder feature?
