Pros

Benefits are good, especially 6 months of maternity leave.

Cons
  • Too much micromanagement. The manager monitors you to the level of how many PRs you submitted, how many comments you received on each PR, how many PRs you reviewed, and how many comments you added to each PR.

  • I worked in the Creative Cloud team, and the work expectations are too much.

  • They talk about gender equality, etc., but I don't see it practically. If you are a working mother or female in general, what you speak weighs less.

  • They do not take 360-degree feedback during performance reviews. The manager just takes the review from one senior engineer whom he believes, and your performance is measured based on your relationship with that senior engineer.

  • The manager does not say it, but they expect people to finish their sprint work (however much time it takes; they only need the end result) as well as spend some extra time and contribute to projects outside what you do, and also do regular brown bag sessions and presentations. In short, work for more than 50 hours per week, and that's what they consider to promote you.

  • If the manager does not like anything in you, they put you on a PIP (Performance Improvement Plan), and you should agree to whatever they say. If they decide to fire you, whatever you try to improve, they don't even consider it.

  • So, if they put you on a PIP, it's better to quit the company and move to something else.

  • Overall, a bad experience in my entire 15 years of career.

Advice to Management
  • Stop micromanaging your team members.
  • Believe in their work.
  • Respect women, especially working moms, and try to provide them with some flexibility.
  • Stop comparing team members; everyone has their own strengths. Instead of comparing, try to empower them and help them grow in their careers.
