Overall a very positive experience even though I didn't get the job. Everyone I spoke with during the interview process is super kind and patient. Definitely would be a place I would love to work in the future.
The interview process is basically a 30-minute video call with HR going over basic stuff like your job history, salary expectations, etc. Then you have a meeting with the hiring manager for about 30-45 minutes about the role, any questions you may have, and a couple of technical questions about bash shell commands.
The third interview is technical, about 2 hours long. One hour is with 2 people (a junior SDET and a senior SDET). They do brief intros, go over resumes, and ask some questions about your experience. Then, they show you a code snippet and ask you what the output would be, along with a couple of other coding questions about anagrams and string manipulations. Easy LeetCode questions, basically.
The second hour of the interview is with 2 software developers who also ask you to code a few LeetCode-based questions, and at the end, they ask you some situational/behavioral questions.
Do you know Ruby?
In a string of 1s and 0s, how would you find the number of zeros? (You're allowed to search online if you don't know Ruby).
Given an anagram, how would you find out if two strings contain the same amount of letters? What are some edge cases you would test?
You have a function called isWord that returns true or false if a given string is a word. You have another function that returns a List and accepts a string as a parameter. You have to take this string and see how many words you can create with it. Ex. Input: "Whotel". Output: "who", "hot", "hotel".
You have a function called twoSums that returns an integer array of the indices that add up to the target value (this is a LeetCode question).
Talk about a time you worked on a group project or something similar, and someone wasn't pulling their weight. What happened?
