Recently, Akamai laid off all newly joined people (1 year with Akamai) from several departments, including top performers and top engineers, merely because they trusted Akamai and joined them. The share price is crashing, and the cloud business is in its beginning. All of this is insisting on a massive layoff. A few months back, they had cut down the bonuses to 30%, which pained the whole Akamai. This painful behavior with new talents is shocking.
Please don't hire if you plan to handpick new joinees while laying off.
