Pros: You get paid a competitive wage for your first two years because of a sign-on bonus.

Cons: Everything else. It’s a bureaucratic nightmare, and you’ll have no transparency at all.

Pros: I learned a lot, with a good amount of ownership and less bureaucracy compared to Microsoft before Satya. It was easy to change teams within the company, and there was a lot of opportunity.

Cons: Depending on the team and manager, there can be a time crunch.

Pros: - Work with intelligent and driven people. - Potential for interesting projects. - Excellent tooling for software. - Nice name to have on resume.

Cons: - Can have a toxic and backstabbing culture, especially as you are promoted up. - Retail and AWS are pretty obviously no longer "day 1" culture. There are way fewer chances being taken, and anything not making an immediate profit is in danger. There is little vision and even less appetite for risk. - Potentially bad on-call and work-life balance, which is very team-dependent. - Compensation does not match peers, is very stock-based, and the "average" comp increase is usually less than inflation.
