I've heard a lot of horror stories regarding working at Amazon, but again, that is very team-dependent. I've personally been enjoying working here, and my WLB has been excellent as well.
There are lots of internal tools and massive back-end infrastructures that take a long time to get used to. The compensation is quite good, but on the lower side compared to other FAANG/Big-N tier companies.
I was interviewed at Amazon in July 2025 for a Software Development Engineer I position. After I applied, I received an online assessment which had a validity of 7 days. Following that, I had one virtual interview with a senior manager.
A phone screen, which is a medium-difficulty LeetCode coding question (algorithms and data structures). Followed by a virtual onsite, which includes: * Two coding interviews (also data structures and algorithms) * One system design interview * One
Received a recruiter email with instructions on how to prepare for the online assessment. The OA was the standard for Amazon, featuring two coding questions, followed by a work simulation (system design focused), and then behavioral questions.
