First, a recruiter reached me via LinkedIn. She said she was impressed by my personal project and offered me a position at Amazon. Then, she sent me a link to HackerRank via email.

I was asked to interview. They called me on the telephone and requested that I solve a medium-difficulty programming question. It was about linked lists and how to reverse them in O(n) time.

The process was fairly typical for a software engineer role. I spoke with the recruiter, completed an online test, and then progressed to the phone screen. The phone screen was rigorous, and I thought I did well enough, but that was the end for me.
