Pros

Great place to learn, especially for junior or intermediate developers.

Also, a good place for managers interested in mechanisms that make such a large company continue to innovate.

Cons
  • High expectations, and the work never slows down.
  • Everyone is constantly in competition with each other, as someone will be exited out of the company.
  • The pace can be relentless, and so the risk of burnout is high.
  • A senior manager always has to play politics up, down, and at the same level, which can be really draining.
  • Career growth opportunities beyond Level 6 are practically non-existent.
Advice to Management

The return-to-office policy has violated a lot of principles that Amazon espouses. Give people back the freedom to choose how they do their work if you want them to shine.
