Due to COVID-19, all my interviews were conducted online. Through an employee referral, I went through three rounds of interviews.
The first one was 30 minutes, very casual and not technical. I explained my research interests and background.
The second one was 1 hour and more technical. Again, I explained my interests and background and answered some technical questions related to my work to test my competency in optimizing software.
The third round consisted of three back-to-back 1-hour interviews, followed by a 1-hour meeting with the manager. This involved a much deeper dive into my background on HPC, scientific applications, and programming, with an equal mix of technical and behavioral questions.
