Process

It started out very good and professional, but quickly went downhill from there. I was told that they were wanting to get things done quickly and rushed me through four interviews, which is already a ridiculous amount of interviews. This part ended up taking a month. Everything seemed okay, and the business went on out for the holidays. I was told I should know the results in about a week and that I was getting great feedback from the interviewers. Well, the week ended up turning into about three months, and I received nothing but extremely poor communication.

I finally had to inquire to ask if I was still in the running. They told me that everything looked great, but the position involved interviews across several departments and that it was just taking a while to complete all the interviews. If I had not reached out, though, they would have left me in the dark.

Finally, about three months in, they reached out and said, "There was one person that didn't get to meet you, so do you mind coming back in for one more interview?" This was extremely unprofessional after all of that time and makes the company look incredibly incompetent and disorganized because I had already met several of the top-ranking supervisors, and the person who wanted to meet me was below them. Also, at this point, after meeting eight different people, including many supervisors, if you have not decided what you want, how can they possibly ever get anything done? I don't think they even know what they want.

It also makes the company seem like there is not a lot of trust between coworkers. If all of the other employees liked me when they interviewed me, what does it matter if one person out of seven wants to meet you in person? In a fully functioning workplace with competent adults, there would be enough trust between employees to move forward with a hire at that point without making you take another day off of work to come down and meet them for a few hours.

They were incredibly rude and inhuman with the process and inconsiderate with your time when you interview. I can only imagine how terrible they are to work for once you are employed. To finish it off, on the final interview, the person who wanted me to take another afternoon off of work was incredibly rude. Everyone else had been nice at this point, but she took me into a room where employees were having a meeting, which turned out to be a place they were not supposed to be because it was our interview room. As soon as she saw them in the room, she got very angry and rude with them and chased them out in a very unprofessional manner. The employees were trying to make light of the situation because it was an accident and they did not know there would be an interview, but she just continued to berate them in front of me.

Right off the bat, I got a bad vibe from her and, after all I had been through, I really did not want to work at this place anymore. After the interview, this new lady continued to be rude and unthinking and basically told me that they are constantly hiring for this position, so it is going to be a while before I hear back. Hearing that just made me realize how little this company values you as a person and does not see you as an individual at all. They are so engrossed in their own culture that they have completely lost touch with reality, and it shows in their interview process.

I was so enthusiastic to start with and would have been a very energetic and quality employee, but their hiring process slowly sucked the life out of me. I imagine my experience happens thousands of times every month to other people, so all I can say is that this company's hiring process is broken. I feel like I dodged a bullet.
