Compared to the other large banking corporations I've worked for, certain teams are extremely unorganized and have more documentation on awards/recognition than their app functionality/setup.
Engineering Directors don't have any oversight and are extremely underwhelming in what they do. For example, they give incorrect information about the application they're in charge of, show a lack of urgency in updating information about internal systems, and demonstrate a lack of understanding/comprehension of the product/setting future goals. They are also typically 15-30 minutes late to meetings.
Figure out what the directors do, because it's almost worse than having nothing.
Getting hired was all about who I knew. I knew my immediate supervisor, and by chance, I had also met one of the other bosses years ago.
