Process

I received an email from a recruiter. After some time, I signed an NDA and had my first interview screen.

This interview was very pleasant. I really enjoyed talking to the interviewer. He asked me about things I had listed on my resume, and we discussed implementation details.

They flew me to Cupertino a few weeks later.

The interview was on-site.

I spoke first with the recruiter, who insisted on knowing my salary expectations. I tried to avoid it, but the conversation wouldn't progress without numbers. This was very annoying.

The technical interview began. I chose the wrong approach, and the interviewer cornered me, giving me no chance to stop and start with a different approach.

The next interviews were more focused on discussing my work, similar to the first screen interview.

It was lunchtime, and I was handed food before the next interview started. It involved a whiteboard coding problem. As I was solving and explaining, the interviewer ate his pear and looked at his plate. I finished the test and felt he expected a certain answer because he didn't discuss my solution, only what he expected.

I was not able to finish my lunch before the next interview began.

The next was another whiteboard coding interview. This one was nice, and the interviewer was great – very spirited and talkative. I really enjoyed this interview. The problem wasn't complex; it was simply to check my knowledge of C++.

Four hours later, and without breaks, I had my last interview. It was another whiteboard coding interview. I managed to complete about half of the solution. This last question was rather simple, but I was too tired to think clearly.
