Software Engineering Interview Experience - United States
Process
I spoke to the campus recruiter and handed him my resume. I was contacted within the next three days to schedule an interview.
The interview was conducted in person and lasted 45 minutes.
It consisted of 3-5 technical questions, which took about 30-35 minutes. These were not brain-teaser type questions.
The last 15 minutes were spent discussing my previous experience, items listed on my resume, and my motivation for wanting to work for Arista.
Questions
Here is an implementation of a BST. Write a function in C to find the minimum node of the tree.
Write a function to find the next in-order successor of any given node in a BST.
A question about what the main function in C does and why it is important to know the difference between char, char pointer, char array, and a pointer to char pointer.

Interns were given a lot of freedom, and everyone is expected to be self-accountable. I was able to work on some very core parts of their software and push code to production only a few weeks in. Everyone I talked to seemed extremely smart and quite diverse, and everyone appeared to enjoy their work. There is basically zero hierarchy in the company, and everything seemed very transparent.Cons: One of the downsides of the lack of structure is that each intern's experience was different, based on what their mentors were working on. This also meant that we each seemed to get a lot of exposure to one project, but not much elsewhere. I did, however, have a much shorter internship than most others, and I believe a couple of interns did switch projects halfway through.
