Arista is a very young company, with a very freeform structure. Interns were given a lot of freedom, and everyone is expected to be self-accountable.
I was able to work on some very core parts of their software and push code to production only a few weeks in. Everyone I talked to seemed extremely smart and quite diverse, and everyone appeared to enjoy their work.
There is basically zero hierarchy in the company, and everything seemed very transparent.
One of the downsides of the lack of structure is that each intern's experience was different, based on what their mentors were working on. This also meant that we each seemed to get a lot of exposure to one project, but not much elsewhere.
