I was invited to a Senior Java Developer recruitment day on May 12th. I had two technical interviews, then I had to wait for an assessment test, another Skype interview, and a final Skype interview. The process was too long; you can't leave a person pending for two months because it's easy for them to find other opportunities in the meantime.
They are big but very disorganized. They booked flights for the event at times I didn't like, but their travel office was not able to change them. They didn't even try to change them (my wife, who works for a similar company in a travel office, told me that it was possible).
For this, I had to take two vacation days from my job, and I had to pay for meals that they now don't reimburse because of company policies, but they didn't share these policies with you beforehand!
After two months, I still haven't completed their reimbursement process. After an email on May 31st, I had to wait until yesterday for receiving another email for the next steps, and only after three reminder emails also sent to other people.
During the hiring process, when I had Skype interviews, they didn't remember that I was at their event. They talked to you as if it were the first time they were meeting you. It seems that you start their hiring process again every time – a great lack of communication!
After all these interviews, which were similar to each other, and after another period with no responses, I wrote to the HR responsible. She replied to me that I was rejected because they were looking for a team player and not for an individual, as they believed I was. In every interview, I said that I have always worked in a team and I like to do so.
The other strange thing is that I was the one to solicit their final feedback, after two months of process!
Applying for ASML has only been a waste of time. My advice is to stay away from this company, at least from the Dutch headquarters.
