Pros

Cutting edge in engineering feats and opportunity. A good stepping stone for optical, mechanical, and computer-controlled processes.

Cons

Lackluster opportunity for the masses outside of engineering, with limited staff, potential, and reward. It's an American orphan of a European parent; the difference is known and felt.

Turnover and layoffs are common.

Total compensation is largely based on profit sharing, which rides the cyclical booms and busts of the semiconductor industry.

Advice to Management

Too many entrenched chiefs managing one Indian, holding onto the former glory of a distant past. Staffing levels are too thin outside of engineering.
