Pros

Exciting projects and many opportunities to learn about the currently growing lithography machine field.

Very good pay for the location the internship is held in.

Cons

The manager could have been more proactive in communicating with the intern about career advancement and career opportunities at ASML.

HR is extremely slow to respond, and there seems to be a lack of communication between managers of other departments and HR. I first received a request for an interview in November, which wasn't scheduled until January, and my offer didn't arrive until March.

While there is relocation assistance (about $2k), no assistance was provided in actually finding housing. The university housing that was available nearby was not available for the whole duration of the internship, resulting in many interns having to find their own housing situation in the final weeks or so.

Connecticut as a location is non-ideal, with very little nightlife and sort of bad food options.

Advice to Management

Make an effort to actually reach out to interns and communicate with them about career advancement opportunities, instead of treating them as an afterthought.
