Pros

International mix of interesting people.

Cons

Process bound maintenance of established designs. Toolchain is problematic. Training is poor and inconsistent. Mentors are too overwhelmed with their own work. Unqualified project leadership leads to chaotic execution. All stick, no carrot. Focus is on schedule, which is infrequently met. Contractors compete for full-time positions during up to 18-month 'probation' periods. The position is more a test engineer than a developer. 80/20. The culture is harsh and unfriendly. Front-line managers are consistently schedule-driven, unreasonable, and belligerent.

Advice to Management

Work on the culture. As it is now, it brings the worst out of otherwise good people. Lead by example.
