Overall, a 2-part process.
First, HR gives you a call and reads through the requirements, asking if you are experienced in them. Then, your resume is sent to the team. If they like your resume, they invite you for an in-person interview.
In the second part, they ask you to do whiteboarding. They are looking for a scalable, high-performance solution from you. All about threads, thread pools, and concurrency.
Overall, they are trying to prove they should get people from their India office, as people here are not fit for the work they are doing. All Indians are in the development team. In fact, I saw no women on the floor except for HR on that day.
Producer/consumer type problem.
