Pros: The work environment is generally relaxed. People are cool and very willing to help you learn. Superiors are more than happy to be your advocate and are very patient if you are new to the tech stack. It's relatively easy to get a return offer.

Cons: - Depending on the team you are placed with, you may end up with way too much work or way too little work. There's not really enough time in the internship to make much of a change during it. - Some internship activities feel redundant or unnecessary, which can make things a bit frustrating occasionally.

Pros: I worked as a contractor for AT&T two times. It's a great company to work for.

Cons: They are a large organization and sometimes have to deal with other departments at a political level.
