Diverse, Energetic, Empowering.
I can't speak for the culture at AT&T in the past, and I have only been here for less than a year. The people here are very energetic and dedicated to exacting change at the company, starting with the culture, which I feel has been a major miss at other companies.
This long-term focus on changing culture and making AT&T more agile is going to pay large dividends in the future, and the signs of change can be seen everywhere.
The teams have a strong cohesion; there aren't any politics, and everyone is actively communicating interdepartmentally. For a large company, that is extremely important.
The benefits are great:
So far so good. I've only been here a year, so I haven't seen much to complain about.
Onboarding can be daunting. AT&T has invested significantly in its onboarding process. It is streamlined for a big company, but can still be challenging because there are the trappings of the legacy programs they are working on changing. But it is improving.
I would love to see what it is like a year from now.
Investors don't seem to trust AT&T, as reflected by the stock price.
Keep righting the ship. AT&T is a supertanker that is trying to execute on a lot of changes. It can take multiple years, and there will be doubt. Other companies I've been at have panicked and made impulsive decisions, causing more uncertainty. I think it is on the right path. Keep executing on that strategy.
AT&T is a technology company, but technology is useless without the people that can implement and enable it. Keep investing in the people with the know-how and dedication to providing real value.
Applied in September, was contacted in November. It was a very long time between my application and first response; however, everything from there was very smooth and quick. The first step is a pre-screen where they ask you about your resume mainly,
After taking the Technical Assessment, you'll get a prescreen interview, then a technical interview to show your skills, and then a behavioral interview. After that, based on how you did, you'll get the offer!
First, an assignment to build a backend system. Then, in the second round, they asked about the project, how to solve an issue for a loaded server, and a technical question of how to compare two strings.
