As Einstein said, "Just because you can count it, doesn't mean it counts, and just because you cannot count it, doesn't mean it doesn't count." Company is so concerned with metrics, behavior is getting modified that is counterproductive to customer service. A policy of 10%-20% of workgroups (not me, by the way) must receive a "does not meet" on reviews is a bit draconian.
If you are going to be downsizing by 10%, have the courage, vision, guts, and leadership to take a minimum of 20% haircut for VPs and above who have total compensation above $1,000,000 per year.
If your leadership was so great, your customer service, employee morale, and stock price would all not be so low.
We all need to work together. You can build a throne with bayonets, but you cannot sit on it too long.
