Process

With Atlassian, I had one of the longest, most comprehensive, and most professional interview experiences I’ve ever gone through. The process is clearly explained upfront through their interview guidelines leaflet, and even in the very first round, the budget for the position was shared—something I haven’t often seen in EMEA-based roles.

Throughout the stages, you meet with interviewers from different teams and regions, which helps reduce bias and shows that hiring decisions are made with the broader company’s interests in mind. However, since you’re ultimately interviewing for a specific role and team, not being able to ask detailed, specific questions to your future teammates felt limiting, even though around 10 minutes are provided for questions at the end.

One big positive is the feedback process. If you don’t make it, Atlassian offers a dedicated feedback session that is handled very professionally and transparently. I really appreciated the honesty and clarity, and I want to thank my recruiter for their support throughout the process.

On the downside, the process is quite long, which can be challenging if you’re actively job hunting. And in the end, the final decision rests with the prospective team lead, making the earlier stages feel somewhat less impactful.
