Process

The main interviews were the following four:

  • Software development: Checked how I code and what I think. I was using my own IDE and my language of choice. The interviewer was good.
  • Algorithms: Coded some basic LeetCode algorithms.
  • Values: A "soft skills" interview about matching their values.
  • "Management": Another soft skills interview; I'm not sure why they needed that one.

I received good feedback during the process and was expecting a P5 "Senior" grade.

However, I was ultimately told I was a P4 (a lower grade, not senior) "Because I did not lead cross-team features."

This resulted in a lower salary. If they had informed me at the beginning that I could not achieve P5, it would have saved everyone time.

Disappointed.
