Pros: Still very remote friendly despite diminishing returns. Severance packages are currently still generous.

Cons: * Best to avoid at this time with current management. * Very high turnover from soft layoffs through PIPs and subjective review cycles. * People you work with from your team and others will suddenly no longer be around, with more competition between employees hurting the business through individualistic choices by the more vocal.

Pros: No BS, no BS at all. And the customer, what about the customer?

Cons: If you've heard about communism, the system that consists of government members who are not capable of producing value but rob from people that do. Join this company to find out. We promise you won't find this experience elsewhere.

Pros: Great company founders that communicate well and often. They are very sincere guys with people's best interests at heart. Fully remote work with the option to relocate to Sydney. If you live near an office, going into that office is completely optional. Beautiful Sydney office, fully catered for breakfast and lunch. Staff were well looked after through COVID with extra time off given. Good equity and salary package overall. Can switch teams after one year if you like and move around internally in the company. There is almost a service or process documented for everything, which makes it really easy, such as salary sacrifice programs, relocation, etc. Really supportive teams and managers, especially through remote work. Promotion process is really clear and easy, though this does depend somewhat on your manager as well.

Cons: The hiring process wasn't the best. I was interviewed for a role without really having a say in what team I would be joining. This made things difficult because you want the job and so you don't want to push back on where they place you in case it hurts your chances of an offer. But this meant that for my first year, until I changed teams, I was unhappy with what I worked on. Sometimes remote work can be challenging and a bit lonely with no office. Plus, a lot of the awesome office perks don't apply to remote workers, and not everyone wants to relocate to Sydney. The total salary package is good, but the base salary is rather low. Atlassian gets by mostly by paying a lower base salary and then offering equity on top, which is not always the best. You have to deal with complicated tax implications, vesting schedules, and stock price volatility devaluing your shares. Promotion can be very difficult once you get to middle-level developer and upwards. Being fully remote takes up a whole office space in your house, which can force you to have less space in the home or increase your rent if you need more bedrooms. There are not many face-to-face catch-ups for remote workers.
