Pros

Good benefits and perks, if that is what you are looking for (not my case). Good work-life balance, flexible working hours, friendly and relaxed office environment. Transformation ongoing with encouraging things to come.

Cons
  • Some old-fashioned management techniques, favouritism, top-down decisions. But people working in the Singapore office seem to be accustomed to that (lots of EP holders).

  • Definitely not an Agile company yet, too many management layers and limited team autonomy. This is a work in progress, but mentalities will take time to change.

  • Inefficient processes and "hero" mentality, instead of streamlined, robust team-based development and deliveries.

  • Too many restructurings, and one 10% lay-off this year: the strategy seems to be based on the stock market's and investors' reactions, and the employees just pay the price.

Advice to Management

The company culture looks great on paper, but somehow it does not reflect on everyday work. Maybe the US is the place where this culture is really implemented; definitely not in the Singapore office.
