Allowed to work remotely full-time.
I’ve worked at Bank of America as a contractor for almost a year, and what a nightmare it had been.
I’d been put down and micromanaged to a level I had never experienced. The leads were constantly mocking me if I was not online for more than 10 minutes. Furthermore, they called me on my personal number during doctor appointments (even during cancer screenings) and told me to reschedule them because, apparently, I could not take care of my own health. I was forced to comply with junior management who had absolutely no prior training working as team leads.
I have been in the industry for over 22 years, and that was never taken into consideration. As a contractor, I was belittled on a daily basis.
My company, who placed me at Insight Global, acted extremely unprofessionally when I brought up harassment. They refused to investigate, maybe out of fear of losing a client, but not their dignity.
My contract abruptly ended without explanation, probably because of numerous complaints about harassment.
I told the managers that my mental health was being affected by all of the harassment I had to endure.
Note to everyone experiencing this treatment: Do not complain directly to the managers. Bring all issues to HR in a written form, as managers’ sight with employees.
Note to executives, HR, and the CEO of the company.
Please respect your staff. Physical and especially mental health are essential and are beyond what you can offer an individual.
Do not EVER ask employees or contractors to reschedule doctor appointments, or have managers call individuals during doctor appointments, especially when they are going through cancer screening.
We are not slaves, but human beings who occasionally need time off to take care of ourselves.
Give training to your leads and managers to refrain from harassing contractors on a daily basis.
Coding Assessment: Online test with DSA and basic problem-solving questions. Two Technical Rounds: Round 1: DSA + SQL questions Round 2: Software fundamentals (OOPS, OS, DBMS, networking, etc.) HR Round: Behavioral questions, background, salary,
The interview was in-person, including the intro. We moved ahead with coding questions and QA-related theoretical and practical questions. I was asked to write some piece of code too. Overall, it was a good experience.
Basic Oops concepts, some medium-level DSA, and in-depth questions on projects and technical electives mentioned in the resume were asked. I would rank the difficulty level somewhere between easy to medium.
