Pros

Great fellow employees. Good compensation. Good work-life balance. Proactive, caring CEO; employee focus.

Cons

It was difficult to find information from other departments. Few employees knew who was in charge of what specific project. My immediate manager was not patient and a poor communicator (with me).

Advice to Management

Don’t tell a CW you just re-upped his 1-year contract, but then, less than 30 days later, tell him, “We have to let you go, but it’s not due to any fault of your own.” The surprise is shocking and painful. It would’ve been better not to re-up the contract and go month to month.
