First, I applied online and then talked to a recruiter at a career fair.
Next, I was led through an online coding challenge, which led to two Skype interviews with current Square engineers. These interviews were conducted through a shared coding environment and were expected to be completed by the end of the 45-minute to 1-hour session, which was a bit daunting at first, but definitely doable.
Next, I went to the headquarters in SF for two in-person pair-programming interviews. These were difficult and also expected to be completed by the end of the interview.
Overall, it was a very different interview process, but I really enjoyed it.
