Good pay and nice coworkers overshadowed by layoffs
Good pay. Work-life balance was not bad. Coworkers were nice to work with.
Block had a great culture until the big AI push resulted in stack ranking and measuring PR counts or token usage as the main productivity metrics. If a company lays off forty percent without any warning, that is a huge red flag indicative of bad leadership.
