Financial Software Developer Intern Interview Experience

Process

I received the interview invitation about one week after meeting the recruiters at a campus job fair. They asked some basic algorithm and design questions and also discussed my previous projects.

I did not perform well on the socket programming problem because I couldn't recall all the C socket APIs. After the first round, which lasted roughly one hour, I was moved to the second round, which also took about an hour. Afterward, they mentioned that I might have to travel to New York for an interview with HR.

You should be familiar with C++ as I was asked questions like how to design a subclass. The company also uses C++ extensively in its software.

By the way, both the first and second rounds were 2-on-1 interviews.
