Process

You will definitely get a call if you apply. Bloomberg filters out very few people through resume screening.

For direct hires, they start with an I/Q/Programming test. The test is timed, and you have 90 seconds for each question. It's pretty challenging.

There are some easy questions, like counting the number of occurrences of a particular word in a paragraph. This is where they filter most of the candidates.

I received a mail for a phone interview on the same evening as the test. The phone interview lasted for 1 hour, covering problem-solving, puzzles, and data structures. This was okay.

I received a call for an onsite interview the same evening as the phone interview. I gave my availability. The interview was postponed thrice due to weather. I had to fly from Texas to NY. No problem at all; coordination was very good each time. Finally, I got there.

The first round of the interview (Panel of 2) was all technical, focusing on data structures, problem-solving using data structures, and puzzles. This was somewhat difficult.

The second round (1:1 manager) was the same, a little difficult.

The third round (HR) was just a formality, I guess.

I was offered the job in 2 days and accepted in 2 weeks.

Accommodation and travel were provided. A gift card was given for expenses.
