Software Developer Interview Experience - Russia

February 5, 2015
Neutral ExperienceNo Offer

Process

The process took two weeks.

I was offered this vacancy by an HR agency, then I passed a simple C++ test.

A week later, I was invited to a phone interview.

The phone interview lasted 45 minutes and included a few questions about my work organization at my current job, as well as some technical questions.

A week after the phone interview, I received an automatic message stating that my application was declined.

Questions

The technical questions were the following:

  • My work at Kaspersky Lab: unit tests, Agile/Scrum/Kanban, and my duties.
  • Definition versus declaration.
  • Overriding versus overloading.
  • Virtual constructors and virtual functions in constructors.
  • new versus malloc, delete versus free. What happens if we use new with free and malloc with delete?
  • Virtual destructors.
  • Order of constructor and destructor calls.
  • Polymorphism in C++ and virtual tables.
  • vector, queue, list: complexity of operations.
