Pros: Nice perks and snacks. Friendly securities; actually, they are the most friendly people in BB.

Cons: Work is extremely boring. A lot of times, a well-trained high schooler could do the job, with much more passion. Developers are being abused by business people and threatened by upper management when they are not happy with your work. I found it funny and pathetic that even my manager is trying real hard to kiss a business analyst's ass. Most managers are incompetent and lack leadership. The reason they are managers is that a lot of people run away after 1-2 years, so upper management has to pick from what's left. A Wall Street recruiter I talked to asked me, "Why 80% of resumes he received are from Bloombergs..." You figure out why.

Pros: Flexible work hours, various career growth paths.

Cons: Micromanagement: Not good at helping you grow.

Pros: Bloomberg has its head screwed on internally and treats the development department as a core department, not a cost center. Teams are quite regimented, but there is opportunity for internal transfers. Instead of a Christmas party, Bloomberg holds an enormous summer party in the park, families invited, which I found a nice way of handling things. The grad training program is excellent, if extremely hard work.

Cons: A serious case of "Not Invented Here"; you will often be working with old technologies or internal stacks. At least they are generally of decent quality. The London office felt a bit marginalized by New York. Don't expect to get financial experience. Financial news is not the same as finance, and developers are well isolated from business concerns anyway.
