Pros: Good levels of experience in the workforce, lots of people to go to for advice and support. Lots of on-the-job training opportunities. If the company does well, you do well.
Cons: Lack of formal training is given to the workforce in technical skills.
Career progression is about who you know, not what you know.
Management has little time to suitably review the workforce in reporting periods.
Lack of recognition for work done above and beyond usual duties.
