Process

Directly onsite.

As I already had 3+ years of experience in the Networking Industry, I was interviewing for the Data Center ASIC group.

There were 5 (1-on-1) technical interviews:

  1. Difference between C and scripting languages.
  2. Number of 1's in a number.
  3. Replacing bits in a 32-bit number.
  4. Programming question where I had to use an offset macro.
  5. How a packet traverses in a switch (describe various tables used).
  6. Semaphore implementation.
  7. How a switch decides whether to switch or route a packet (MYMAC and IP address).
  8. ARP, ICMP working.
  9. static keyword use.

There was a lot of focus on Networking and OS. Overall, it was a good experience, and the people were good to talk with.
