Broadcom Work Experiences
- 2.0Great technology, but the broken middle management needs to be fixedPrincipal Software Engineer • Former EmployeeSunnyvale, California, United StatesMay 25, 2021Pros: A semi-company with cutting-edge wireless technology. Many employees are best in class.Cons: Management makes extremely aggressive schedules and refuses to learn from past errors. Several abusive middle managers cause the company culture to suffer. There's a sink-or-swim attitude toward new hires. It's hard to get a promotion. Poor work/life balance: pedal to the metal all the time.
- 2.0Cultish Founder, Passive EngineersSenior Staff Software Engineer • Former EmployeeSunnyvale, California, United StatesJune 9, 2015Pros: Once-a-quarter free meal. Air-conditioned office. I am drawing a blank...Cons: Lots of passive-aggressive engineers and a bunch of managers looking at reports as stepping stools for their careers. A bizarre cult of the founder. 1984 meets Back to the Future general ambiance. A good match for Avago.
