Pros

This company appreciated experienced professionals, perhaps to a fault. It was a bit disorganized, like a start-up would be, yet it's a mature company. So, management and hiring managers tended to prefer experienced staff to make up for the lack of robust processes and procedures.

Cons

Lack of robust process and procedures. The engineering team is not fully engaged with the manufacturing team – the 'silo' model for product introduction and support.

Advice to Management

Purchasing Foundry Networks was this company's downfall. Trying to get into the commodity and highly competitive enterprise-router-switcher business was a mistake. Brocade should have remained focused on Storage Area Networking products.
