Projects are interesting, and you get to help develop cutting-edge technologies. Everyone working on the projects really knows their stuff and comes from many different backgrounds, which provides opportunities to work with all sorts of interesting people. It's a large corporation and has the ups and downs of one, such as great benefits but also a high amount of segregation between levels. The majority of the employees are engineers, a lot more than in similar companies. Shared offices are better than cubicles.
The pay was decent, but now it's no longer good. All sorts of new technologies and products are being created, but it feels as if they have no impact on how well the company is doing. I feel as if I have no opportunity for growth or promotion. The workload will fluctuate between extreme highs and lows. No more free drinks, subsidized foods, or free lunches.
