Process

There were two technical rounds:

  • The first was with a Staff Engineer.
  • The second was with the Hiring Manager.

Both rounds were scheduled for 60 minutes. The initial 20-25 minutes were for behavioral-type questions, and the remaining time was for coding problems.

Questions

Round 1: They asked a similar question about rotten oranges but, instead of oranges, they mentioned sick employees.

Round 2: They asked a question similar to Meeting Rooms II but with network logging data. This was tricky as the question was framed very vaguely, and the HM wanted the most optimal way to arrange the logs based on the severity of issues from a custom epoch, but not using any date-time libraries.
