Process

I applied through a recruiter.

  • Lack of Information in the JD: There was no information regarding the segment, products, or team structure.
  • Lack of Internal Alignment: The HR representative could not provide accurate information on the above during the first-round call, even though I asked her several times. I also mentioned that there were some skill gaps and that I might not be the right fit. All I got in response was "you are a suitable candidate," and that was all. There was no information for the candidate to fairly judge whether this was a suitable position or to prepare for the next round.
  • Disorganized Recruitment: Before the second-round Team Lead interview, the JD suddenly changed and bore little relevance to the original role. I texted the HR to confirm the interview, but she said it was still scheduled as usual. It seems the recruitment direction was neither clear nor aligned.
  • Confusing Team Setup: During the Team Lead interview, he explained that the team was based in Country A, but my headcount was based in Country B to support the team, while the clients were in Country C. As a result, he asked me many questions about the Country C market. Of course, there was no way for me to answer, as my work and client experience were based entirely in Country B. Ironically, when I asked him the reasons for this setup, he did not answer directly and deliberately avoided the question by talking about other things.

Overall, the experience was really bad, and it seems no one knows what is happening. They pretend to move forward and sacrifice candidates' time to meet their pipeline KPIs. If you get an interview, please be critical and ask for details. If the answers do not meet your expectations, avoid the role at all costs. There are many big names out there; be confident in yourself.
