Calm does a very good job of enacting its mission of "Making the world happier and healthier." This is reflected internally by implementing multiple mental health days off per year, monthly Zoom-free workdays, an open time-off policy (that is encouraged), and even a mental health week off for the whole company.
Working toward something that brings a bit of good into the world and has a positive effect on people is also a huge motivator.
Calm is growing quickly (but responsibly). It can be hard for new, remote employees to feel connected to the company as a whole. This problem is not unique to Calm.
Continue to improve onboarding and figure out creative ways for employees to feel like they're a part of the mission from day one.
