I applied via LinkedIn, and a recruiter sent an email the very next day asking for a time to chat.
The recruiter screening was very informal. They asked about why I wanted to join Canva, what my expectations were for the role, and also about the interview process.
The coding challenge round was scheduled two weeks later. It was a pair programming session with a senior engineer. I was asked to implement two interfaces, and the code/challenge requested was pretty simple. I struggled due to my lack of Java experience, but the interviewer was very helpful, nudging me whenever I was stuck.
I received the rejection email the very next day, which I was expecting. Overall, it was a good interview experience.
