There is no drive for excellence in the profession. This will turn most employees complacent and satiated with the level they are at.
You can't survive in the industry if you get too comfortable. They will probably sack you in the end, as a lot of effort is on for robotic automation which would make most software engineers redundant.
Ratings should translate to monetary benefits.
There is no competition or drive to perform.
