The interview process has three parts. The first was a phone call, and the recruiter sent me the CoderPad exam before the call had even ended.
I'm fairly good at what I do, so I was confident based on my experience and abilities as a data engineer.
It was my first CoderPad exam. I did prepare, but the four questions had nothing to do with what a data engineer actually does. There was one about appending values to a list based on different random conditions that the current array had met. Another one was similar to Candy Crush. I wasn’t able to finish it in the 1 hour and 10 minutes that was given.
I saw plenty of reviews about how horrible the CoderPad exam was, and it really was a horrible experience.
The recruiter asked about experience and skills during a 30-minute phone call. Codesignal presented 4 rather long and difficult questions, and I was given only 1 hour and 10 minutes to complete them.
