I spoke with the recruiter. She was very pleasant to deal with and genuinely interested in my succeeding in the interview process.
However, the technical challenge was horrendous. There were four questions:
- I finished one question.
- I could not finish the second question in the allowed time.
- I did not even attempt the third and fourth questions, which were harder in complexity.
I have over 25 years of experience, and these types of questions do not measure one's success.

Abysmal leadership trickles down to a bad environment

Pros: Moderate technical freedom and choice per team.
More modern tech stack than most traditional banking competitors.
Cons: Stack ranking makes it virtually impossible to advance without a nepotism inroad. It also forces lower managers to cull decent engineers without reason.
Gaslighting and insistence by leadership on obviously non-employee-friendly matters. No one is saying that forcing increased in-office participation is a good idea unless they're trying to get in with a c-suite.
