Process

Capital One recruiters have a tendency to ghost potential candidates if they are not interested.

At first, the recruiter calls and asks you to take a coding challenge. Two coding challenges are presented through HackerRank.

If they are interested, the recruiter/HR is very helpful regarding the interview process, providing a guideline on what to expect.

Due to the COVID-19 situation, the final interview was completed via Zoom video conference rather than onsite. It consisted of four 45-minute interviews: two technical tests, a behavioral interview, and a case interview.

During one interview, an interviewer's concentration was hindered by background noise from a child screaming, as employees were working from home.

One technical interview included LeetCode questions, while the other was intended to be a whiteboard session. However, since the interview was not onsite, it focused more on the candidate's resume and technical background.

The behavioral interviewer asked three questions, expecting 12-15 minute answers using the STAR format.

Most interviewers were easy to talk to, except for one who seemed agitated.

Overall, they were nice but deceptive.
