Pros

Moderate technical freedom and choice per team.

More modern tech stack than most traditional banking competitors.

Cons

Stack ranking makes it virtually impossible to advance without a nepotism inroad. It also forces lower managers to cull decent engineers without reason.

Gaslighting and insistence by leadership on obviously non-employee-friendly matters. No one is saying that forcing increased in-office participation is a good idea unless they're trying to get in with a c-suite.

Advice to Management

Maybe try creating slightly less transparent lies. Abolish stack ranking if you actually care about employee growth.
