I applied via LinkedIn. After two weeks, I got a call from the recruiter. He went through my resume and asked common questions like: Why do you want to change jobs? Why do you want to work at Checkr? What are you looking for in your next role?
After that, he asked me to send my availability for the next phone interview. A few days later, I received a call from him stating he missed my email, so he asked me to send my availability again.
The first phone interview was with the Director of the Team. She asked about my work, how I report bugs, and types of testing. Then, she gave me the Checkr API docs and asked me to write test cases for a specific API.
In the next week, two interviews were scheduled. The first one was with the Engineering Manager. He asked Leetcode questions. He was very helpful throughout the interview, giving hints whenever I was stuck in the code. I really enjoyed the interview with him.
The second interview was with the Senior Quality Engineer. All questions were related to QA and testing. They were theory-based questions only, with no coding.
Throughout the interview, her tone was very bad. She was behaving like a school teacher. She thought whatever she knew was right. If you had a different opinion, she couldn't agree with you and just gave you a bad look.
During an interview, I had mentioned one minor bug that the Checkr API has related to the status code, where the status code was different than what is mentioned in the API docs. For that, her answer was that it depends on the customer's interpretation and it can't be considered a bug.
She was the rudest interviewer I have ever seen. I am glad I am not working with her.
She must learn how to interview in the USA.
